Amy Locane-Bovenizer, a former star of “Melrose Place,” has been indicted on charges stemming from a car crash, according to TMZ.com.
According to reports, Locane-Bovenizer, 39, has been charged with aggravated manslaughter and assault by auto on Thursday. If convicted, she could face 10-30 years behind bars for the first charge, and 5-10 for the second.
Authorities says Locane-Bovenizer’s Chevrolet Tahoe sideswiped a Mercury Milan driven by Fred Seeman of Montgomery as he turned into his driveway June 27. Seeman’s wife, Helene, was pronounced dead at the scene, while her husband was airlifted to a hospital and late discharged.
Locane-Bovenizer was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated after officers detected alcohol on her breath and after she admitted to drinking a couple of glasses of wine that night. She was then charged with second-degree vehicular homicide and third-degree assault by automobile following the crash.
Her attorney, Blair Zwillman, expressed shock to “People” over the aggravated manslaughter charge, saying:
“I don't think it's appropriate. We are going to fiercely defend it."
